Why “Faraaz” will not be available in Bangladesh, Even if it's released on Netflix, Amazon Prime or any other OTT platform.

It's known that the movie 'Faraaz' directed by Bollywood director Hansal Mehta about the incident of Holi Artisan will never be released in any theater in Bangladesh. But as a result of this ban, even if the movie is released on Netflix, Amazon Prime or any other OTT platform, it will not be seen from Bangladesh. The court passed this order in view of a writ filed by Ruba Ahmed, mother of Abinta Kabir who was killed in Holi Artizan.

The petition filed in the High Court said, "What has been filmed in this movie, two militants are shown talking, one of whom was or is having a relationship with Abinta. Her attire is shown in such a manner that an educated family in our civilized society would never wear such attire." It doesn't. The girl is degraded in this movie. Even the police is shown as a failure. It is a question of sovereignty of a country. For these reasons Bangladesh should not be released on any platform."

Abinta Kabir's mother Ruba Ahmed said, 'Faraaz movie will tarnish the country's image. The makers of the movie did not contact them. They did not even express sympathy in this incident. A legal notice was sent but no response was received.

He further said, 'When it comes to my country, please don't let it air on OTT. People of the country do not need to see it.

It is not possible for any mother to see this. I am a mother, I have lost my daughter. How the girl's life went is being shown on the big screen, others are enjoying and other people are making money from it, how would I want these as a mother. Not only my daughter but also the image of the country is being ruined. I don't want this movie to come on OTT platform.'

Bengali girl Abinta Kabir was a student of Oxford College of Emory University in the United States. On July 1, 2016, three days after returning to Dhaka, he was killed in a terrorist attack at Holy Artisan Bakery in Gulshan. 'Abinta Kabir Foundation' was established on March 4, 2017 to preserve his memory.

Abinta's mother told reporters, "Abinta, Tarish and 'Faraaz Hussain have passed away from this world along with others. I think that's enough, I don't see any point in making a movie about it. And the reason the movie is named 'Faraaz' is that there is definitely an emphasis on a character. In emphasizing that character, my daughter's words are coming.'

Ruba Ahmed also said, 'Another person has given his life for my daughter in this movie, he is a hero. No, that's wrong. I don't believe that. Because there is no evidence of it. No one has returned from there. Those who have survived do not know anything, cannot say. There is no evidence of anyone being a hero. If there are heroes then the 22 people who are gone (died) are heroes. We are nobody.
